The JPEG image compression is a great fit for applications requiring very good image quality at a low-to-medium compression ratio range by a high throughput and/or a very compact silicon footprint implementation.

Alma Technologies offers an extensive range of 8-bit Baseline and 10/12-bit Extended JPEG encoder and decoder IP cores with optionally included video rate control functionality and support for Motion JPEG. Extra care has been taken while designing these JPEG IP cores in order to combine high-performance and highly efficient silicon resource usage in an easy-to-use and integrate IP package.
